Why bother to use a Taobao agent? Well, you see, Taobao shops would only ship to addresses in China, so the Taobao agent is needed to ship the items to you (outside China) from China. Also, only China-registered credit cards are accepted by Taobao.com so that's where you need the Taobao agent again. ^_^

For Singapore, I use a Singapore-based Taobao agent: http://www.sgshop.com.sg which has never disappointed me so far. ^_^
