Wang Peng used worms to eat away imperfections in material for guqin

According to the video (please jump to 16:00 in the video) on this webpage (http://tv.cntv.cn/video/C38988/679db6af76d249e68614c8b5c4c3b93c) Wang Peng the guqin maker uses actual worms to eat away the 'imperfections' in the wood he uses to make guqins. He mentioned in the video that, "they're cute." Does anyone know what's the name of the kind of worms he uses? Does anyone know if other guqin makers also use worms to eat away the imperfections of wood? Thanks!

Wang Peng mentioned in the video that the oldest wood in his warehouse are about 400 to 500 years old, the youngest are around 100 years old. He also mentioned in the video that JunTianFang (his guqin factory) has collected enough wood for them to continue making guqin for the next 40 years.
